ChillSense for multi-site hospitality
Multi-site hospitality groups have a problem cafes and single-venue restaurants don't: the head office needs to see consistent answers across every venue, while each venue manager needs to act on their own asset-level reality. The traditional answer is a spreadsheet that gets emailed around weekly; ChillSense is the answer that updates itself.
How a hospitality group uses ChillSense
Two views, one platform:
Per-venue (venue managers, head chefs)
- Site-level dashboard showing every cold-chain asset at their venue.
- Alerts and incidents routed to the venue's contacts.
- Monthly HACCP PDF generated automatically for the venue's food safety records.
- Role-based access so the head chef sees what they need to see, line staff receive alerts without logging in.
Head office (operations director, group ops, food safety lead)
- Multi-site overview with a health tile per venue.
- Filter by region / brand / format for groups with a portfolio.
- Consolidated incident view showing where in the group the real problems are.
- Per-venue and group-aggregated HACCP reports for routine reporting and incident follow-ups.
- 30-day trend of incident counts per venue, so a slowly-degrading venue surfaces before a serious failure.
The same platform powers both; head office sees everything, venue managers see their own venue. See Dashboard & multi-site.
Recommended deployment per venue
Most multi-venue groups settle on the Multi-Site Pack + 12-sensor monitoring per location. That gives:
- 2 hubs and 12 sensors per venue, which covers the typical full-service kitchen + walk-in + bar comfortably.
- The largest per-sensor volume discount (10%) on the subscription.
- A second hub at each venue for coverage redundancy - if one hub goes offline, the other still ingests; the dashboard surfaces the offline hub immediately.
Smaller venues in the group can drop down to the Restaurant Pack + 6-sensor monitoring (5% volume discount) without changing how head office sees them; the multi-site overview rolls them up the same way.
Onboarding a group
A typical group rollout we'd recommend:
- Single-venue pilot (week 1-2): install at the venue with the strongest food safety reputation, so the data is clean. Demonstrates the dashboard and reports to the venue manager and head office in parallel.
- Format-by-format rollout (week 3+): roll out to one format / brand / region at a time. Each venue takes 30-60 minutes to install on site once hardware arrives pre-configured.
- Head-office configuration (in parallel): set up the multi-site overview, group roles, and report cadence while site rollouts continue.
- Audit cutover (month 2-3): retire the old paper or spreadsheet temperature logs once enough monthly HACCP PDFs are on file to satisfy your auditors that the data is reliable.
We can help size, sequence, and pre-configure all of this - contact us and mention the number of venues, the typical assets per venue, and any in-flight food safety audits.
Why head office cares more than venue managers do
In our experience, the largest ChillSense ROI for hospitality groups comes from head office visibility, not from per-venue convenience:
- Incident attribution. When a stock loss hits, the multi-site overview shows whether it was a one-off or part of a pattern.
- Group-wide auditing. One person at head office can confirm that every venue is operating within plan, instead of chasing 14 venue managers for their paper logs.
- Capex planning. The dashboard's per-venue 30-day incident trend is the most honest "which fridges should we be planning to replace in next year's budget?" signal you'll ever get.
- M&A diligence. Acquiring a venue and turning on ChillSense day one tells you within a fortnight whether the cold-chain hardware you just bought is fit for purpose.
Pricing at scale
The 12-sensor monitoring pack is the largest standard tier (10% volume discount). For groups with venues exceeding 12 sensors per site or with more than ~20 venues, talk to us about a custom plan:
- Tiered subscription pricing across the group.
- Consolidated invoicing.
- Optional regional / group access hierarchy so a regional manager sees only their venues.
- Custom report templates if your regulator wants a specific format.

What this is not
ChillSense is the cold-chain layer of a hospitality group's operations stack. It is not a kitchen management system, an inventory system, or a labour scheduler. We integrate with adjacent systems via email-in (most operations platforms accept email-routed events) or via a bespoke webhook integration for larger customers.
