The ChillSense Hub is the on-site brain of your ChillSense deployment. It listens for readings from nearby ChillSense sensors, packages them up, and sends them securely to the ChillSense cloud over your Wi-Fi network. From there, your dashboard, alerts, and HACCP reports do the rest.
You only need one hub for a typical small site, but you can add more hubs to the same site at any time to extend coverage into a far corner, a separate cool room, or a second building on the same property. There is no per-hub subscription, so additional hubs only cost the hardware purchase.
What it does
- Pairs with ChillSense sensors over a low-power wireless link.
- Collects temperature and humidity readings from each paired sensor on a regular interval.
- Streams readings securely to the ChillSense cloud over your Wi-Fi network.
- Buffers readings locally during short internet outages and forwards them when the connection returns.
- Shows live status at a glance through a single multi-colour LED (Wi-Fi joining, cloud connected, sensor pairing in progress, healthy operation).
Technical highlights
- Connectivity: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (works with the great majority of small-business networks).
- Power: mains-powered via the included USB-C power supply. No batteries to replace.
- Coverage: a single hub comfortably covers a typical cafe, restaurant kitchen, or small retail back-of-house. Larger or more complex sites can use additional hubs.
- Local buffering: continues to collect readings during short Wi-Fi or internet outages, then forwards them as soon as the connection comes back.
- No software to install: all setup is done from the ChillSense dashboard in your browser.
What you'll need
- One or more ChillSense Sensors paired to this hub.
- A monitoring line for each sensor at the site. Use the Sensor Monitoring (1 Sensor) subscription for a single sensor; for multiple sensors the 3-sensor, 6-sensor, and 12-sensor packs work out cheaper per sensor. Each subscription product offers both monthly and yearly billing - pick the cadence on its product page.
- The hub itself does not require its own subscription line. Add as many hubs as you need for coverage at no recurring cost.

Setup at a glance
- Place the hub roughly centrally in the area you want to cover.
- Plug it in and wait for the status LED to settle.
- Follow the prompts in your ChillSense dashboard to claim the hub to your site and join it to Wi-Fi.
- Pair your sensors one at a time near the hub, then move them to their final positions.

Adding more hubs later
If a sensor keeps dropping out, an asset is at the far end of a long site, or you have added a new room, drop in a second hub and pair the affected sensors to it from the dashboard. Additional hubs do not need their own subscription line - the hardware purchase is the only cost.
