The Starter Pack is the simplest way to begin monitoring a single cold-chain asset - typically a single critical fridge, freezer, or cool room. It bundles a hub and a sensor into one purchase ($200 GST-inclusive), ready to pair with Sensor Monitoring (1 Sensor) at checkout with quantity 1 (monthly or yearly billing, selected at checkout).

Who this pack is for
- Small cafes, bakeries, or specialty stores with one critical asset to monitor.
- Anyone trialling ChillSense before committing to a wider rollout.
- A pilot deployment ahead of expanding to the rest of the site.
If your site has more than one cold-chain asset, buy additional sensors (and another hub only if you need coverage range), then one Sensor Monitoring subscription per sensor.
A common deployment
- One sensor inside your highest-value or highest-risk asset (for example, a stock fridge holding fresh produce, or a freezer with significant frozen stock).
- One hub on the same wall or in the same room, plugged into a nearby outlet.
Add monitoring at checkout
This pack is hardware only. To bring the dashboard, alerts, and HACCP reports online you also need an active monitoring subscription. Add Sensor Monitoring (1 Sensor) at checkout with quantity 1 (monthly or yearly billing). No commitment on the monthly option - cancel or change at the end of any billing period. If you add more sensors later, increase the subscription quantity or add another line at checkout.
Setup at a glance
- Plug the hub in, follow the dashboard prompt to claim it to your site, and join it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Pair the sensor near the hub and give it a friendly name (for example, "Stock fridge").
- Place the sensor inside the asset following our placing sensors guide.
- Set the temperature thresholds and notification contacts for that asset.
Most customers finish physical setup in about 20–30 minutes and are live on the dashboard within about an hour. Step-by-step guides live in the Help Centre.
Adding more assets later
Need to monitor a second fridge, a freezer, or a display cabinet? Add another sensor and another Sensor Monitoring line at checkout — one subscription per sensor ($8/mo or $60/yr; yearly saves $36 per sensor versus paying monthly). No second hub is required, as long as the new asset is at the same site and within wireless range of the existing hub.
If coverage becomes patchy because of distance or thick walls, add a second hub to the same site. Additional hubs do not need their own subscription line - the hardware purchase is the only cost.
