How often does ChillSense take readings?

Sensors send readings frequently enough to detect real cold-chain issues without flooding you with data. The exact rate depends on your sensor type, but it is typically every few minutes.

Do I need to install software?

No. ChillSense is accessed through your web browser. Sensors and hubs are pre-configured before they ship.

Can I add or move sensors later?

Yes. You can move sensors between assets, and we can supply additional sensors when you need them. Update the friendly names so the dashboard, alerts, and reports stay accurate.

Will ChillSense work with my existing fridges and freezers?

In almost all cases, yes. ChillSense sensors are placed inside or near your existing assets and do not require modification to the appliance itself. If you are unsure about a particular asset, contact support.

Reliability & continuity

What happens if the internet drops out?

Sensors continue to record locally and the hub catches up when connectivity returns. Short outages are normal and usually do not cause data loss. Long outages should be investigated, since the dashboard cannot show live data while a hub is offline.

What happens if the power goes out?

Sensors run on batteries and continue to record. Hubs need power to transmit, so during a power outage you may see a gap in the dashboard. When power and connectivity return, recent readings will appear again.

How long do sensor batteries last?

Battery life depends on the sensor model and reporting rate, but most sensors run for many months on a single set of batteries. The dashboard can warn you when batteries are running low.

Who can see our data?

Only people in your business who are invited to your ChillSense account, plus authorised ChillSense support staff who help with operations and troubleshooting. Your data is not shared with other customers.

Can ChillSense replace my food safety plan?

No. ChillSense is a monitoring tool that supports your food safety plan with continuous data and reports. You still need a plan that covers your responsibilities under your local regulations.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can generate PDF reports from the dashboard. If you need raw data exports, contact support.

Q

How do I add another user?

Use the dashboard’s settings or invitations area to invite a colleague by email. They will receive a link to sign in and choose a password.

Q

I’m changing premises — what should I do?

Let support know in advance so we can plan the move with you. In most cases you can take the sensors and hubs with you and re-deploy them at the new site.
